Harvard Kennedy School: a model for the 'good jobs' of tomorrow?
A new Harvard Kennedy School report asks whether Buurtzorg's way of working could improve jobs across the service sector.
In January 2026 the Malcolm Wiener Center for Social Policy at Harvard Kennedy School published Buurtzorg: A Model for the "Good Jobs" of Tomorrow? by Justin Black. The report looks at how Buurtzorg's autonomy and simple administration create good jobs, and what governments would need to change, such as simpler billing and shared infrastructure, for self-management to spread further.
