Grannvård received the highest rating in the municipality in the national annual client survey. We are very proud  that our relentless focus on our clients and our ability to support their quality of life continues to be appreciated and recognized.

Grannvård Bålsta continues to grow and February 1th 2017 the team has split since it had become too large. It has proven to be a very wise decision and the two (smaller) teams are now working more collaborative and intimate when providing the care that is recognized for its continuity as well as quality and compassion.

At the same time team Enköping unfortunately has stopped, despite numerous meetings with the municipality and our plead for compensation that would enable providing care with covering costs.

Earlier this year Grannvård received communication from the municipality that they would not increase reimbursement for 2017. This led to several difficult meetings with the municipality where Grannvård tried to convince them that it would not be possible to continue without an increase since our costs would not be covered.

It almost went as far as Grannvård terminating the contract with the municipality and giving notice of 3 months to stop the activities. But at the end all the effort made it worth, Grannvård convinced the municipality about the value and importance of the work of Grannvård.

This was the second time in 5 years that Grannvård had to negotiate with municipality for receiving compensation that enables us to give quality care with experienced & educated staff. We now hope that there can be some peace & quiet so we can focus on our growing number of clients instead of spending all our energy fighting with politicians and officials.

Grannvård has not yet started more teams in other municipalities since there is still uncertainty around the laws around non-public organisations providing services in Sweden (education, healthcare & elderly care).

We at Grannvård feel very proud to be part of Buurtzorg and we will continue to prove and convince the people in Sweden. Because everyone deserves ”Better Care at Home”

Warm Regards
